As the name implies, Tamang heritage trail is a community based trekking package whose main attraction is, the Tamang community living between the Ganesh Himal and Langtang range, close to the Tibetan border. Along with the stunning mountain views, terraced green farmlands and thick forests, travelers get to peek in the everyday life style of Tamang people. They can get a closer look on their unique cultures and traditions.
Tamang Heritage Trek provides us with picturesque landscapes, luring white peeks and scattered antique villages. The Tamang people originally came from Tibet as horse traders and settled in hilly parts of Nepal (usually within close proximity of the Kathmandu Valley) several hundred years ago. They have retained a distinct identity with Tibetan roots, as well as their own language. Travelers can get involved in their festivals, their different traditions and can have the opportunity to know more about our deep and rich cultural diversity. On one hand we are awarded with the beautiful view of snow-capped mountains, lustrous green forests, different floras and faunas, on the other we get to soak ourselves up with the rich culture of the Tamang people along with the sightseeing of their monasteries, local forts and museums.
