The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is a pristine trekking experience in the central Himalayan region of Nepal. The Langtang region is easily accessible from Kathmandu, and offers an amazing combination of beautiful mountain landscapes and Tamang and Tibetan culture. The high mountains lake such as Gosaikunda is populated by Sherpa and Tamang inhabitants in the North-West of Kathmandu Valley which is well –known for its pure culture and religion with magnificent Himalayan views. The Gosaikunda area has been delineated as a religious site. Hindu mythology attributes Gosaikunda as the abode of Hindu deities Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri.
Langtang valley Gosaikunda trek is a moderately difficult trek which gives you the perfect Himalayan view bound with the art of Himalayan lifestyle and yet only has the highest trek point at 4610 meters. Following the Trisuli River north out of Kathmandu, we travel through Trisuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. After breakfast at Syabru Bensi, HJT trekking guide led you continuation with river bank side to Pahiro Thaplo Bamo trek to Lama Hotel then trek continue flat ascend through Langtang valley then finally reach at Kyanjin Gompa and then climb Tserko Rhi the next day from where we can get tremendous views of the Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,622ft) range. The next day, continue on the trail leading down towards Syabrubesi, but keep your eyes open for a trail splitting up to the left, a little ways below Bamboo village. This trail is well-marked with a sign and map indicating the way to Gosaikunda. This trail would be the one of the best destination among the all those trekkers or travelers without much time but would like to explore or observe Nepal’s unique combination of culture, an amazing landscape, panoramic views of Langtang etc. it is also taken as one of the best chance to get right in among the Himalayan peaks and to get off the beaten trail, walking along the some captivating remote and relatively underpopulated areas, unique culture ,lifestyle of local Tamang inhabitants.
Itinerary

Upon your arrival in the capital city of Nepal, you will be taken to the hotel for freshening up and relaxation. Feel free to stroll through the city at your leisure.
Drive of 7-8 hours will take from Kathmandu to Suryabesi which is the entrance to the Langtang valley and also the starting point of this trek. We can enjoy the scenic view of the rural beauty of Nepali villages and small towns on our journey. On clear day we get to enjoy the panoramic views of the Mansalu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. We drive until you we reach the small and beautiful town of Suryabesi. Overnight stay over there.
The first part of the trek is plain and straight through the lush forest in the hills leading to Pahiro and Bamboo. The path goes through the subtropical forest which is covered by oak and maple, large spruce, fir and blue pine. We pass through the jungles of oak and rhododendron. The variety wildlife; yellow-throated martens, wild boars, Langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears, etc. are inhabitance of the forest. We will gradually ascend from here and to the Lama Hotel. The forest clears as you will near the Lama Hotel where we will be staying for the night.
We continue ascending from Lama Hotel and enjoy the mountain landscape with abundant waterfalls. As we reach the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela, we begin to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. In the late afternoon, Langtang valley comes into sight, and from a distance, the village is picturesque and beautiful. The village has flat-roofed Tibetan style house, and elaborately carved driven windows of the upper village are worth exploring. Valley is surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields where buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips, and barley are planted and easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you. In the morning, you can enjoy the short village tour. The village of Kyanjing is one of the culturally rich and significant settlements of the Langtang region. We can visit the local cheese factory and can try the cheese and curd made from Yak milk; it is remarkable of this place. We spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Buddhist shrine in Kyangjin Gompa and surrounding areas with the amazing views of the mountains. Overnight stay in Kynagjin Gompa.
Acclimatization is a crucial key while hiking in the Himalayas, and at an altitude of 3820 meters, Kyanjing will be an ideal stop We can either spend the day by exploring Tserko Ri which will also help us acclimatize to the high altitude, or hike easy for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji. There are several alternatives sided trips, the surrounding areas of North having many smaller isolated valleys. Overnight stay in Kyangin Gompa.
After the breakfast we trek back towards Lama Hotel. Most of the trekking today will be downhill as we pass through forests and beautiful Tamang villages. All the way downhill you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up. Overnight stay in Lama Hotel.
The beginning trail gently descends along the river to the landslide then passes through pine and Junipers forests steeply up to Thulo (Big) Syabru, where will be staying for overnight.
Passing Schools and gompas the trail ascent through the forest of hemlock and oak until trail Dursagang (2660m). Then the trail gradually ascent through forest Sing Gompa. The local well managed cheese factory, and Buddhist monasteries can be the visiting places which provide panoramic views, exhilarating nature. Overnight stay in Shin Gompa.
Today we will follow a ridge for the most part of the day and catch a glimpse of the first of the holy lakes. The trail is one of the most beautiful in this whole trek as we pass through pastures and small streams before reaching Gosaikunda. Gosaikunda (4380m), is of particular religious and cultural significance for the Nepalese and is one of Nepal’s most sought after pilgrimage sites. The myth is, Gosaikunda was created by Lord Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison which threatened to destroy the world. There are more than dozens of small and big lakes surrounding the area. All of these beautiful lakes can be reached within some hours of hiking from central Lake. SaraswatiKunda (Lake), Bhairav Kund, DudhKund, RagatKund, Chandra Kund, and AmaKund are some of the major lakes we can reach today. Overnight stay in Gosainkunda.
The trails descend all the way to Sing Gompa passing Lauribanayak pass which is also the highest point of our trek. Crossing three small lakes in the way, we will start our uphill rocky climb to Lauribina Pass. Once in the top, you can have an incredible 360-degree view of rocky hills and snow-capped mountains touching the horizon. Overnight stay in Sin Gompa.
Today’s trek is refreshing which descend through pine, silver oak and rhododendrons forests with marijuana plants up to you cross suspension bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream. Then the path stretches at flat level through some human settlements and mineral water factories up to Dhunche where we will be residing for the night.
Today early morning we will drive back to Kathmandu through the road passing terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements, high hills and along the Trishuli river side. It takes about 7 to 8 hours drive (conditional) to reach your hotel in Kathmandu.
