Jugal Himal Mountain range forms the border among Nepal and China. Major Mountain in this area are Dorje Lakpa and Jugal Himal, which tower over six thousand meters. This is a remote and unfrequented region, despite its proximity to Kathmandu. This is mostly off-the- beaten-track and involves a lot of climbing on narrow trails. The trek towards the holy lake named, “Panch Pokhari” (five lakes), situated at the height of 3600 m, is another breathtaking attraction of this trek. Enjoy the tranquility of trails that offer superb mountain views of Langtang Himal, Gaurishangkar and green ranges and running rivers with water falls.
Our trek starts from Chautara at an elevation of 1200m passing through picturesque villages and rolling green hills. We will be visiting Buddhist monasteries and learn about Tamang & Sherpa culture and customs. This trek is a true escapade and status at the lakes, mountain range wholly surroundings us shape a natural amphitheater.. It's wonderful trek throughout isolated local community Tamang village and plentiful forests. You will climb throughout forests to high alpine lakes and trail takes you throughout the Indrawati Valley regularly up to the holy Lakes call Panch Pokhari. From Panch Pokhari, trails lead to Tarke Gyang in Helambu and then back down the ridge through Sermathang to Panchkal on the Kodari road. Many other routes also described trail lead back to Kathmandu from Tarke Gyang.
Itinerary

Starting our trip, we will reach small and beautiful Chautara village of Sindhupalchowk district. We will rest here for the first day of the trip and will begin our trek from the next day. We will be exploring the village and can get some insight on the life style and culture of the local people.
On the second day reaching Chautara, we will be starting our main trekking of 5 hours, which will lead us to Sano Okhareni. On the way we would be greeted with the beautiful sight of peaceful existence of different ethnic groups in the same area. We will camp at Sano Okhareni which graces us with beautiful Mountain View.
We will be walking 1hour uphill from Sano Okhareni to Thulo Okhareni. From there our route becomes steeper but nonetheless full of stunning view of glowing rhododendron flower, pine forest, and if lucky, our national bird, Danphe. After a climb of about four hours further, we will reach to a summer pasture-ground where we conclude our today’s trek.
Fourth day starts with the smooth and steady walk through the lush forests of rhododendron, pine trees, junipers, oaks and some wildlife too. We conclude our trek of 5 to 6 hours in Pauwa Bas.
On this day we have a steep uphill walk of 3 hours. After that we have 1 and half hour of downward walk through the forest. We will be graced with the stunning view of the mountains on the way to HilleBhanjhyang, where we camp out for today.
With the rise of sun and starting beautiful morning at Hile Bhanjhyang. We would be having only about 4 hours of walk for the day thus we can take it easy on the steep uphill section to start the day, taking about an hour. Then we can enjoy the gradual descent of about 3 hours through rocky hills and rhododendron forest into camp at NarsimPati.
On seventh day of trek we will reach the final destination of our route. We will have about 3 hours of gradual ascent through rocky hills to reach this beautiful pilgrimage site. You can see wonderful alpine forest, diverse flora and fauna as well as idyllic villages on your way to Panch Pokhari. Panch Pokhari means the group of five holy ponds/lakes. There are two metal-roofed huts, a sheet metal-enclosed shrine to Shiva and a pile of cast-iron tridents. There is often snow on this ridge, making the trek more difficult. Overnight stay in Panchpokhari.
Today you will spend your day resting and acclimatizing in Panch Pokhari. The trek to Panch Pokhari at the base of Jungle Himal offers pristine mountain views, rich culture and genuine adventure.
We will return to Nasem Pati and descend west on a good trail, past several ravines with water but no camping, to a good camp site at Gai Kharka.
From Gaikharka, we continue our trail towards Yangri. We pass through several villages and forest to Yangri, our destination for today. We camp below Yangri Village.
The trek today to Laghang Gompa continues after you cross a bridge over the Larke and Yangri kholas before you pass through the Yangri village. From here, the path climbs steadily and continues steeply in some places towards the north-west. The trail is often steep up through country dotted with villages and fields, scrub hillsides and pleasant villages. Overnight camping at Laghang Gompa.
It takes just over three hours from Laghang gompa to Tarke Gyang. Today’s trek climbs through beautiful forest, before approaching nice pastures, stone houses, scrub growth and cattle path. Finally, you will descend the steep downhill trail that leads to Tarke Ghyang for the overnight camp.
Today’s trek will be comparatively easier since we won’t be gaining any altitude on today’s trek. After a 5 hour walk through green forests, we will reach a beautiful village with deep and rich cultural heritage. Overnight stay in Sermathang.
This final day of the helambu trek will end in Melamchu Pul Bazaar. We pass through many beautiful culturally rich villages on our downhill ascend to the Melamchi Pul Bazaar. After a brief stroll through the Melamchi Bazzar we return back to Kathmandu finishing our 14 days Jugal Himal Base Camp Trek.
